SOFIA. Knowledge responds

Treccani SOFIA

CONVERSATIONAL RESEARCH

A new way to interact with encyclopaedic knowledge

SOFIA is the conversational assistant that transforms access to the Italian Encyclopaedia into a conversation. Thanks to a knowledge graph built on encyclopaedic content, it allows both the exploration of new topics and the verification of information. SOFIA is not just a search system; it transforms every consultation into a dialogue, where answers are always accompanied by encyclopaedic sources of reference.

FROM THE KNOWLEDGE GRAPH TO ENCYCLOPAEDIC SOURCES

Knowledge responds

Treccani expands access to encyclopaedic knowledge through artificial intelligence. Thanks to this enriched digitisation, the heritage of the Italian Encyclopaedia takes shape in an interactive knowledge graph: 2,600,000 extracted concepts, 1,000,000 unique concepts, 3,000,000 semantic links.

SOFIA provides answers accompanied by the encyclopaedic sources consulted to generate them, indicating the authors and the reference volume. Each source is linked directly to the full entry available in the interface, with the option of going directly to the full reference entry.
